Lookout Mountain, GA – Prosecutor and Appalachian entrepreneur Clayton Fuller filed to seek the Republican nomination for Congress for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District today. A native North Georgian, Mr. Fuller and his wife Kate live in Lookout Mountain with their two young children. He’s a devout Christian, and a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church.

Mr. Fuller will bring a wide breadth of experience and accomplishment to Congress. In 2018, Mr. Fuller was appointed by President Donald Trump as a White House Fellow. The highly selective White House Fellows program, created in 1964, is the nation’s most prestigious program for leadership and public service. Mr. Fuller worked in the Office of the Vice President, assisting Second Lady Karen Pence with her response to the opioid crisis, and for the Department of Defense where he assisted with special operations oversight in worldwide counterterrorism operations.

After finishing the White House Fellows program in August 2019, Mr. Fuller and his wife Kate founded Atticus Impact Investing, a strategic investment firm focused on revolutionizing the economies of Appalachian small towns. In founding Atticus, the Fullers chose to focus their efforts on the renewal of communities important to their family’s future and so many others in the region.

Prior to the White House Fellowship, Mr. Fuller served as an Assistant District Attorney for Georgia’s Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, where he prosecuted some of the circuit’s toughest violent and sexual crimes. He secured convictions in numerous cases, including rape, child molestation, and armed robbery. In one rape case, he secured a conviction for a perpetrator who had been victimizing women in the North Georgia community for three decades and had avoided being brought to justice in other courtrooms.

Mr. Fuller also served in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer. While on active duty, Mr. Fuller was diagnosed with cancer, and his personal victory over cancer required a thirteen-hour surgery and a two-week ICU stay at Walter Reed. Upon completing his active duty service in the Air Force, Mr. Fuller became a member of the Air National Guard, where he continues to advise commanders on providing the nation with superior F-16 capabilities.

“I’m looking forward to traveling around our district and putting myself forward to my neighbors as a candidate for Congress. I love North Georgia. It’s where my forefathers are buried dating back to the American Revolution. It’s where I grew up. It’s where my wife and I are raising our family. As a conservative Republican, I’ll help President Trump stop illegal immigration, defend our 2nd Amendment rights, combat the opioid and methamphetamine epidemics, and protect the unborn. Most importantly, I want to make sure our communities have a fighter in Congress. Rural areas of our district need someone representing them who understands their problems—and will fight for 21st Century jobs and for better healthcare. The veterans in the district need an advocate who understands the disorienting challenges that come with taking off your country’s uniform, and who has actually suffered through the VA’s phone tree system. As a national security expert with a decade of experience, I will ensure that the heroic men and women of our military have the resources necessary to defeat our enemies. My career as a military officer, prosecutor, and entrepreneur was spent fighting for the people and communities that I love, and that’s what I’ll continue to do in Washington.”

The 14th Congressional District of Georgia is comprised of twelve counties including Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Walker, and Whitfield.

I have known Clayton (and his equally amazing family) since he was a teenager and his character has never faltered: he is honest, smart, fair, and kind. The ideal candidate for Congress.

  2. Steve Blevins says:

Clay Fuller is one of the finest men I have ever met and had the opportunity to work with. He has my vote.

  3. Xan Stevenson says:

It should be noted that Clay was an amazing leader on the basketball court as well. Having the dedication and resilience to perform at a high level of collegiate sports is something very few achieve. This is of course a small indicator of many that demonstrates the type of character he has. I have often said that he is the only captain in my basketball career that I wanted to follow. Good luck Clay!

  4. Sara Fain says:

Clayton is a highly qualified candidate. His resume speaks for itself. He has a huge heart and will truly represent those he serves. I have the utmost respect & faith in his leadership skills & his unwavering ability to tackle tough issues. You have my vote!
